Monday, May 17th Rainbow Room Morning Meeting: Pledge, Calendar, Weather and Songs (All Week) we had to line up in order according to the number on our turkey (1-10) we took turns putting ourselves in order brainstormed animals on the farm and what they say read Who Took the Farmers Hat? Table Centers; On the Farm felt board fun (all week) finished our class pond (check out our ponds, they are hanging outside the Rainbow Room) we put tadpoles in our buckets (sponge painted tadpoles) and then we counted them and put the correct number on our buckets Tree House Room Rug played a game: What is in My Letter Barn *had to guess what was in the k, j or u letter bag and we sang a farm song to go along with the object and letter read Click Clack Moo snack Centers; finished our Frog Life Cycle booklets painted black spots on paper to make cows when they dry later on in the week worked on our numbers (what comes next) Closing; we had a Hoe Down (it was a lot of fun) Tuesday, May 18th Rainbow Room Morning Meeting; worked on putting our turkeys in order again (1-10) read Click Clack Moo again and retold the story using the booklet we will be using to retell during centers math; numbers paper (what numbers comes between 8 9) Centers; our math paper and our Click clack Moo retell booklet (had to tell me and identify the word on a word card that fits in the blank) Tree House Room Rug practiced some of our songs for graduation did our letter barn game again read Cockle Doodle Moo Centers; worked on our Click Clack Moo retells and began tracing and cutting out our cows Wednesday, May 19th Went to see Click Clack Moo Thursday, May 20th Rainbow Room Morning Meeting; brainstormed our favorite part of Click Clack Moo read The Little Red Hen took a vote on whether or not we would share the bread that The Little Red Hen made Table Centers; finished cutting out our cows and then we did ___ow words an read them back (cow, bow, now, how, etc.) finished our Click Clack Moo retells Tree House Room talked about our Little Red Hen bread project rehearsed our songs for graduation snack centers; worked on Little Red Hen projects and our cows rehearsed our songs with Mrs. Hartman's class went to the park (finally nice weather) Friday, May 21st Rainbow Room Morning Meeting; brainstormed ____en words (hen, ten, ben, den, etc) read Cook a Doodle Doo Table Centers; finished our loaves of bread (Little Red Hen projects) we each got a hen with ___en words. We wrote ___en words and read them back Tree House Room Rug reread Cockle Doodle Moo (a story about farm animals who are confused about what sounds they are supposed to make) showed the kids how to sketch a farm animal to go with the story Centers: we then painted the animal and wrote the wrong sound coming out of its mouth finished our ___en word family Reminders: Tomorrow is our school picnic at Penn Township Park starting between 11:30-11:45 Only 3 more days of school Graduation is on Thursday, May 27th Drop your child off in his/her classroom at 11:15 and then head up to the chapel. We will begin promptly at 11:30.
